Friday M1X, March 31st

Here's this week's edition of ''Friday M1X''
The interesting and unusual stories you want to read:

Anna Benson seeking divorce from Kris
''Anna Benson wants a divorce from Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kris Benson who still thinks the New York Mets traded him because of his impulsive wife.
Anna Benson, an actress and model who has posed topless, filed for divorce in Atlanta on Thursday. The petition for divorce claims the marriage is irretrievably broken...' ''

So she's basically dumping him because the Mets traded Kris Benson because of her? That's ridiculous. Kris Benson should dump her. If her marriage is irretrievebly broken it's because of her ''impulsive'' behaviour. ESPN says the following: ''who has her own web site and publicly discussed intimate details of their sex life.''

Well now that's settled, my sympathies to Kris. Oh- This image might not also help Kris's situation.

Adam Eaton breaks finger...again

''Adam Eaton could be out of the Texas Rangers' rotation at least a month with a strained tendon in the middle finger on his pitching hand, the same injury that sidelined him last season...''

Incredible. The guy breaks his finger in San Diego. That's one of the main reasons he was traded. Now he does it again! What the heck does this guy do to break his fingers twice with two different teams? Here's the answer:

''Showalter said team physician Dr. Keith Meister told him rock climbers are the only people who get the kind of injury Eaton suffered while throwing a curveball against his former team, San Diego, in the second inning of a spring training game Wednesday...''

There's your answer. Rock climbing. Doesn't he have enough brains not to do it again if he hurts himself and throw a curveball with a hurting finger. Lower in the article, it says that if Eaton elects to have surgery he could be out the entire season. For now, they speculate he'll be out three months. This is a big blow for the Rangers rotation. They let Kenny Rogers go, get this guy. He breaks his finger. They acquire Vincente Padilla, he's having rib problems. With the addition of Brad Wilkerson and minus Alfonso Soriano, the Rangers aren't going anywhere.

Koivu and $4.7 million in his pocket

Saku Koivu ended his huge 24-game goal scoring drought yesterday, scoring the overtime goal versus the Washington Capitals in a 3-2 win. Here's what this is about. Players sign huge contracts and they, well, don't show their ''worth''. Here are some great examples : Nikolai Khabibulin...signs with the Blackhawks...$6.8+ million per season....Martin Saint-Louis...re-signed with Lighning...$6.5 million per season...Darren Dreifort...signed a 5 year $55 million contract with the Dodgers after going 13-13, been injured ever since.

It's all about the money. You can add Alexei Yashin to the ''overpaid, underachievement'' list too.
